axis label autosize

Following the heatmap example given here : http://bokeh.pydata.org/en/latest/docs/gallery/unemployment.html

Is there a way to set axis (tick) labels to autosize? I’d like the ‘year’ tick labels to increase in size / legibility as I zoom in on the plot. Having them set to such a small fontsize is only relevant when viewing the whole image.
( I have many more ‘years’ in my actual dataset, usually a lot more ‘months’ too! )

Hi,

The most reasonable approach currently probably involves making a custom extension. You can create your own custom tick formatter, that is also configured with the axis model, so that it can just tick label text properties based on whatever conditions you want to check. This is a slight stretch from from what tick formatters normally do (usually just format the plain text) but should be workable.

Thanks,

Bryan
