there are a equation in the box plot page
refer to the below
iqr = q3 - q1
upper = q2 + 1.5*iqr -->??? (maybe q3+1.5*iqr)
lower = q2 - 1.5*iqr -->??? (matbe q1-1.5*iqr)

I think he is getting at, does it use the wrong equation. See here: Box Plot Diagram
From the provided information, I think he is right that it should be based off of q3 and q1, unless there is something else going on in the calculation.
