bug: GMAP underflowing Bokeh figure

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone else is having this bug where Bokeh’s google map underflows the associated figure? :

Hi,

Wow I have never encountered that. Definitely a bug of some sort. Can you make a GH issue with very detailed information (versions, where how you are using, etc) and instructions/code to reproduce?

Thanks,

Bryan

We are also getting this issue. Must have just started today. Currently in bokeh 0.12.4

Was there a change on Google's side? Can someone confirm if the same code with 0.12.3 does or does not reproduce the error?

Also, an issue on GH would be helpful. Fixing several GMap issues is a priority for 0.12.5, there is already a PR to close four old ones. If there is a GH issue I can add it to the milestone.

Any tips on how to fix this?

I have no idea until some investigation is done. I've asked twice for a GH issue with details and some reproducible code for that purpose, and also asked if anyone who is experiencing this can confirm whether it is confined to 0.12.4 or whether it is suddenly showing up with previous Bokeh versions. In order to fix this, people will need to help.

Thanks,

OK, then I have to tentatively conclude this is due to some new change on Google's end, which would be, in truth, the more unfortunate outcome. What about any differences across platforms or browsers?

Is anyone aware of any announcements of changes around GMaps from Google? Does anyone work for Google or have contacts there that might be willing to offer assistance?

Thanks,

Hi, dev build 0.12.5dev11 is available which appears to fix the issue:

http://bokeh.pydata.org/en/dev/docs/user_guide/geo.html

Several other outstanding GMap issues also fixed (reset tool, updatable map options, blanking on refresh)

Thanks,

Bryan
