I was just noticing that the number of contributors listed on GitHub is right at 198 [*] At the risk of sounding greedy, and also at the risk of dwelling on arbitrary metrics, I was thinking it would be a great present to the project to reach 200 contributors before the end of 2016! There's any number of issues that could use help:
Many of which are small or self-contained. So if you are interested in making a new contribution to an OSS project (or maybe even your first contribution to any OSS project) please consider a PR for one of the open issues in the tracker. We can help suggest issues too, if you have questions about where your experience might be most useful. The developer's guide is a great place to get started:
But we are also always happy to answer questions and help people get going.
Thanks, and happy holidays!

[*] An important number, but one which does not include many other kinds valuable of contributions, from ML and SO question answering, to issue submissions, to tweets about cool things done with Bokeh, which are also always very much appreciated.
I had a look at the list of issues but I missed an “easy”, “effort: low” tag or something that identifies certain issues as suitable for newcomers. For the time being, I will focus on this sort of query
Best,
Juan Luis

I just want to say thanks to the new folks that have stepped in, we have reached the goal! But please keep the contributions coming, the surest, quickest way to make sure some small but important issue gets addressed is just to knock it out yourself. The core devs will appreciate the help, and the community will appreciate the fixes and features!
Thanks,
Bryan
