increase resolution on PNG export

Hi,

Is there a way to increase the dpi resolution of the png images that are exported when clicking Save? It can be a system wide setting and does not have to be a headless save.

Alternatively, are there any vector graphics (svg, eps) exports available?

Thanks,

Botond

Hi,

Sorry there is not currently any way, apart from just making the plot bigger to begin with. At the moment the save tool dumps the HTML canvas to a PNG, exactly as-is.

Thanks,

Bryan

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. So a workaround would be to increase the plot size, font size, etc. everything proportionally?

Thanks,

Botond

Hi,

Yes, you would need to increase plot_width and plot_height so that the HTML canvas is the size that you want for the saved image, then adjust any other visual settings accordingly so that they appear how you want at that size.

Static, configurable, programmatic image generation is an important and high priority, but unfortunately it is both technically challenging, and is also coupled to development schedules of external projects (i.e. Chrome Headless) that we have no control over. Additionally the person who was probably going to do this is now no longer available, so there is also a matter of human resourcing. I hope we can have more / better things to report in the next few months.

Thanks,

Bryan
