Remove the resize tool - seeking opinions

Some new layout work has some conflicts with the resize tool.

After some discussion with @bryevdv
we thought it would be good to get some feedback on whether
the resize tool is useful at all, and if so to describe the
use cases so we can be thoughtful about how we deal with it
while working on the new layout.

      The main goal of the new layout work is that things just line

up. You have 5 plots and three sliders on a page: they should
all just line up and look “nice”.

      As part of this, plots will, by default, be responsive.

They’ll grow and shrink to fill the box you put them in, and
relative to each other too.

** Do you, or your users, currently use the resize tool? If
so, why? in what circumstances?**

Hello,

yes, from time to time I use the resize-tool. I have line charts with a lot of lines (often more than 100 or 200). If the standard plot size is too small, resize helps to enlarge the picture. I tried also to auto-size to the browser size. But that did not help me, because the height of the plot was larger than the browser window height. There seem to be options to deal with that, which I did not know…
I would not depend on resize if there are other options like auto size, that size so, that neither width not height are larger than the browser window.

Yes, that's definitely part of the plan! As well as the ability to

set that and other parameters around it.
