'save' and 'theme' not working together (0.12.4)

Community Support

Hi,

I am trying to set a theme using a theme.yaml file but when I use ‘save’ instead of ‘show’ the theme is not applied.

This problem can be recreated using the example here if you change show to save (need to import save as well):

Is there a way around this or is this a bug in the current version of bokeh (0.12.4)?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

I believe this should be fixed in master by Fix embed themed models by jsignell · Pull Request #5932 · bokeh/bokeh · GitHub Can you try a recent dev build (or build from source) to confirm?

Hi, thanks for the speedy response.

Unfortunately with the latest dev release (0.12.5dev14) installed via:

conda install -c bokeh/channel/dev bokeh

I’m getting a (possibly related?) error when running the same example:

File “bokeh-yaml.py”, line 135, in

save(layout)

File “/home/mike/anaconda3/lib/python3.5/site-packages/bokeh/io.py”, line 387, in save

_save_helper(obj, filename, resources, title, validate)

File “/home/mike/anaconda3/lib/python3.5/site-packages/bokeh/io.py”, line 453, in _save_helper

doc.validate()

AttributeError: ‘NoneType’ object has no attribute ‘validate’

Thanks,

Mike

Actually I think this will happen to be fixed in a currently open PR:

Fix integration tests by canavandl · Pull Request #5961 · bokeh/bokeh · GitHub
