The latest Pandas release has broken bokeh.charts by changing the return of groupby in some instances. Because of this we are accelerating the plans wrt to moving bokeh.charts into its own new bkcharts repo and project.
Please be advised, there will be an interval of time when bokeh.charts does not exist on master nor in dev builds, but before the bkcharts packaging and compatibility shim is complete and available in bokeh core.
*** If you rely on bokeh.charts then you will need to stick with official releases ***
Also as a reminder, after Bokeh 1.0 is released, you will need it explicitly install the bkcharts package yourself in order to access the charts API, it will no longer come as part of the Bokeh core library.
