Bokeh install from pip hangs indefinitely

Hi

For the past couple of weeks I have been trying to update Bokeh via pip without success. In every attempt the install hangs without moving further. I tried update install and a fresh one after removing the package. Installation from source works fine. I am running a OS X box, with 10.9.4 and Python 2.7.5 (default, Mar 9 2014). Any help appreciated.

Paulo

Paulo,

Hi, this is a known issue. Unfortunately we are not sure what is causing this. A current workaround is to pip remove bokeh first, and then "pip install" fresh again. We will post to the list whenever we figure out what the issue with pip updates is. Alternatively updates work successfully if you use conda/Anaconda.

Hi

I ended up installing directly from the source and it worked fine.

Cheers
