So, my CustomJS now successfully manages the typical glyphs (lines, circles, patches, etc) whenever the user changes the state of the view object.
I’d like to be able to use BoxAnnotation in the same way, but it does not seem to be possible to attach it to a data source. What’s the best strategy to be able to plot BoxAnnotations dynamically from the client (JS) side?
Box annotations do not take a source - this is something we’ve
been supporting with more recent annotation additions -so I
encourage you to submit a feature request for it.
In the meantime I would suggest trying a rect/quad with some
opacity. Of course you’ll need to manually set all directions
which you wouldn’t have to do with a box annotation, but hopefully
that’s not too bad.
