I have been in contact with the PSF to hopefully be a "sub-org" under the PSF umbrella organization for GSOC. I have created this wiki page to collect possble ideas:

It's currently probably a bit heavy on the "hard" side, if folks have ideas for simpler/easier possible tasks to add, please propose them here.
Additionally, our tracker is growing quite large, if there is anyone interested in helping to triage issues, by all means let us know! In particular I'd like to tag some reasonably large set of "starter" issues.
