Locking aspect ratio

Looking at past threads there doesn’t seem to be any way to lock in the axis aspect ratio, other than manually setting the plot width and height. That works fine, but when you add a legend outside of the plot (in my case off to the right), it uses up some of the available pixels and makes the plot vertically narrower. Is there another way to lock the aspect ratio yet?

Many thanks

I’m afr aid not, and I agree it’s odd that you
can’t pick the height/width of
the plot rather than the whole
canvas. I’m not sure if there’s an open issue about
this, but if you can’t find one feel free to open one.

Bird

For reference, this is the issue:

  Easily control aspect ratio · Issue #474 · bokeh/bokeh · GitHub

Tho perhaps it could be made more clear that this is the intended use-case.

Sarah, would this potentially just be a matter of toggling an extra constraint on the frame size on/off ?
