Tooltips for multi_line: how to reference a single value, not the whole array?

multi_line requires a list of lists for x and y inputs.

When attaching a hover tool to the resulting renderer the variables @x, @y, and even $x, $y contain a list, not a single value.

How to use tooltips in conjunction with multi_line?

Computer says no.

Of all of those, adding support to MultiLine is perhaps the most accessible, in case anyone on the list is looking for an issue to work on.

Thanks,
